Family Planning
The Shelby County Health Department's Family Planning Program offers low to no-cost birth control through a Title X funded grant. The services, open to male, female and the LGBTQ community, include the following:
- Well woman/man exam
- Pap smear with STD/STI exam
- Pregnancy testing
- Preconception counseling
- Contraceptive counseling
- Breast exam with referral if needed
- Blood pressure, height, weight
- Urinalysis
- Hemoglobin test if needed
Services are provided at 7 clinic locations around Shelby County including:

- Hickory Hill Public Health Clinic - 6590 Kirby Center Cove, Memphis, TN 38115

- Shelby Crossing Public Health Clinic - 1826 Sycamore View, Memphis, TN 38134
- Southland Mall Public Health Clinic - 1278 Southland Mall, Memphis, TN 38116
- University of Memphis Student Health Center (For University of Memphis Students Only)
The different contraceptives available include various types of oral birth control pills, male and female condoms, Depo-Provera injection, implants, intrauterine devices (IUD) as well as a prescription for the birth control patch and ring.
